Carbon fiber preform

Carbon/Carbon Composite Materials are composites composed of carbon fibers and their fabrics reinforced with a carbon matrix. They were discovered by the American CHANCE VOUGHT laboratory in 1958 and are a new type of advanced material currently being researched and developed in the high-tech fields worldwide.

Carbon/carbon thermal fields are commonly used in photovoltaics and have largely replaced graphite. Photovoltaic thermal fields are consumables used in the process of silicon wafer crystal pulling, mainly including components such as crucibles, draft tubes, insulation tubes, and heaters located inside single crystal furnaces.

It has the following advantages: 

(1) Its entire system is composed of carbon elements. Due to the strong affinity between carbon atoms, it has good stability both at low and high temperatures. Meanwhile, the inherent property of high melting point of carbon materials endows this material with excellent heat resistance, allowing it to be used for a long time at 2500°C in a protective atmosphere.

 (2) It has excellent high-temperature mechanical properties and is currently a material with good high-temperature mechanical properties in an inert atmosphere. More importantly, the strength of this material does not decrease with the increase in temperature; it is even higher than that at room temperature, which is incomparable to other structural materials.

 (3) It has a low specific gravity (less than 2.0g/cm³), only 1/4 of that of nickel-based superalloys and 1/2 of that of ceramic materials. 

(4) It has good ablation resistance with uniform ablation, can withstand high temperatures above 3000°C, and is applied in environments with short-term ablation.

 (5) It has excellent friction and wear resistance and is an excellent candidate material for various wear-resistant and friction components.

Main application fields : Aviation: Used in manufacturing rocket engine nozzles, wing thermal protection structures, etc.

Brake field : Such as carbon/carbon composite brake discs, which have excellent friction performance and high-temperature resistance.

Industrial equipment : Used in manufacturing components for equipment such as high-temperature furnaces and single crystal silicon furnaces.
